As we head into 2018, home building appears to be back on track. Finally! Following several dark years, and a couple of flat years, 2017 was the second year in a row the Tucson Metro Region saw a double-digit increase in single family permitting activity. We ended the year strong at 3,150 Single Family Residential permits (SFR’s). While we are still a ways off from where we should be—between 4,000 and 5,000 SFR’s per year—this news bodes well for our community.
