David stepped into the top executive position for the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association in April 2011 after having served as its government liaison for three years.
Before that, he managed political and policy initiatives for trade association and corporate clients of Sterling Corporation, a premier Michigan political and issue management consulting firm.
David is where members are, from SAHBA committee and member events to informal meetings and lunches. He fulfills committee and board directives, plans and implements SAHBA activities and serves as the association’s public spokesman.

Shawn coordinates and manages SAHBA government relations efforts with Pima County and the four municipalities within the county. He’s our liaison between building industry members and local government.
He’s well-qualified for the job. Shawn worked as the government affairs director for the Southwest Montana Building Industry Association. Having grown up in the family construction business, Shawn has been closely involved with the building industry for over 20 years.

Jennifer manages the SAHBA Home Show at the Tucson Convention Center for the association twice a year, in April and October. Her work includes booth sales, helping 350 exhibitors, marketing, serving as the Show Spokesperson and coming up with new ideas to make the well-established, 44 year old show, fresh each time for over 11,000 weekend visitors. Her experience in event planning and fundraising at both the University of Arizona and Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona has made it an easy transition as home show director.

A longtime home builder and Realtor himself, Art Flagg has been a devoted member of SAHBA for over 38 years, having served two terms as Chairman of the Board in 1997 and 2007, and interim president in 2008. Now SAHBA is delighted to make use of his considerable experience as our Director of Operations.
Although Art was on track for a PhD in Educational Philosophy, a weak economy in 1979 spurred a career shift toward home building, as his father did before him. Art acquired experience at all levels of property acquisition, development, home building, home maintenance, and customer service and was senior vice president for KB Home. In 2008, he opened a privately owned group of assisted living homes. Throughout his career, Art has shared an easy smile, sense of humor, and leadership talents with numerous Tucson organizations… Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus, Citizens Water Advisory Committee, Tucson Housing Foundation, Tucson Botanical Gardens… and SAHBA. We look forward to growing toward SAHBA’s future goals together.
Noël Kurtz has been named the Director of Special Events for the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association. Her major focus will be launching the Parade of Homes in early 2018. Noel previously served as the Home Show Director for SAHBA, where she oversaw the organization’s twice yearly home shows which attract hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest in home improvement, gardening and outdoor living.
Noel has worked for two large builders in Tucson – Meritage Homes and Pulte/Del Webb. She is a University of Arizona graduate and worked for the UA coordinating new student orientations and recruitment events for six years. Additionally, she co-chaired several major fundraising events for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oshkosh, WI and Columbus, OH.email@example.com
With an extensive background in marketing communications, public relations and creative events, Sara Rohde is well suited to her role as SAHBA’s membership director. She’s looking forward to developing key relationships and partnerships to help advance SAHBA’s priorities, and add even more value to your membership.
Sara has led marketing and sales teams for the University of Arizona Student Union, Madaras Gallery, and a trade association and mid-size YMCA association in Georgia, which grew five-fold. She also served on the YMCA of the USA national marketing advisory board for seven years.

With her desk in the central hub of our office space, our administrative assistant Marie Josée “MJ” Burns is likely the first person you’ll meet when you visit SAHBA– and she welcomes everyone with a warm smile and energetic personality. MJ brings a wealth of talents to SAHBA, and handles a wide range of administrative and executive-related tasks. Her background is in real estate / property management, digital marketing and advertising, social media, and sales– most recently as a top-performing account executive for the Arizona Daily Star.
You may know her already from her volunteer work on SAHBA’s Charity Classic Golf Tournament Committee. “I love to volunteer,” says MJ, “because I care deeply about Tucson and contributing to its growth.” Besides volunteering, MJ is an avid pro at networking and using social media to grow a business.
