Curated Industry Advocacy Strategies

Advocacy

SAHBA recognizes that real success for our industry, homeowners and the broader community is created through collaboration with private and public sector partners to ensure supportive government policies and highly functioning local governments. It takes everyone working together to meet the housing needs of a growing community. SAHBA engages in matters of public policy and lobbies for industry interests at the local, state and federal level of government. Our objective is to influence the housing dialog, that will result in more opportunities for home ownership.  To accomplish this, SAHBA employs a multifaceted industry advocacy strategy that includes regular meetings with key government officials and regulatory agencies. We work closely with the elected officials and their teams to streamline processes, reduce fees and facilitate understanding that helps advance shared goals.

Unmatched Educational Resources

Education

Providing members opportunities to learn and grow is a valued part of SAHBA. Members are invited to attend councils and committees to learn from industry experts as well as share local market trends, concerns and best-practices with their peers. SAHBA members may participate in the Sales & Marketing Council, Custom Builders Council and Remodelers Council, to name a few. Additionally, the Technical Committee is a forum where local government officials, regulators and members come together monthly to discuss and develop industry policies and practices. SAHBA routinely partners with other industry associations to provide Lunch & Learn programs on relevant and timely issues. Members can stay current on national industry topics through the vast library of resources provided by NAHB, including monthly publications, webinars and professional development opportunities.
