Oro Valley approves new, increased impact fees
Despite arguments from developers and business organizations that it would stymie growth, the Oro Valley Town Council last week approved new development fees and increased existing water resources impact fees that will add thousands of dollars to the prices of new homes and new commercial developments.
The development fees, recommended in a study by the consulting firm of TischlerBise, go into effect Dec. 2. For a single-family home the total fee comes to $6,203 per unit. That includes $2,699 for parks and recreation, $694 for library, $513 for police, $389 for general government and $1,908 for transportation.
The council approved increases in water resources impact fees, raising the fee for a single-family home by another $1,700 for a total of $4,900.
