SAHBA Members Give Back to the Community
Community service has become second nature to members of the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA).
“Members bring their core values of family, hard work, and philanthropy to the table,” said SAHBA Vice President Roger Yohem. “They come out to events and projects on their spare time.”
Throughout 2008, hundreds of SAHBA members upheld the Association's reputation as the “Community Builder” through donations and by volunteering their time.
Among the major programs supported were:
Steele Research Center: In honor of Life Director Charlie Bowles, SAHBA purchased a Glucose monitor for the Children's Research Center.
St. Luke's Home: With help from the SAHBA Membership Committee, $1,608 was raised to benefit St Luke's. In addition, the Committee provided various home care products and clothing.
Tucson Boys Chorus: SAHBA's support helped send the Chorus to Europe.
Tucson Wildlife Center (TWC): SAHBA contributed to TWC's Wildlife Hospital to help efforts in rescuing ill, orphaned, injured or displaced animals.
